Delivering TD to Entrepreneurs at Brunel University during Alumni Business Development Week, Wednesday 6th August – a networking and business psychology focused day.
I had the pleasure of addressing 24 Brunel Graduates from many different walks and stages of life at their pilot of ‘Brunel Alumni Business Development Week’.
They were all profiled in advance and were fascinated and excited by the insights they gained on the day.
Splitting them into groups of similar profiles to discuss their insights after the session on the Talent Dynamics profiles was fascinating.
The Star totally shone on the dynamo table and there was much animated discussion and exchanging of thoughts and ideas.
The Blaze/Tempo table were quieter, more considerate of each other and made sure everyone had their fair say.
The Steel table were much more reticent about sharing their thoughts and very conservative with the number of words they were using and very much to the point.
With their new found knowledge of themselves, we had a very energizing Speed Networking session after lunch which progressed from some of them not having enough to say to fill a minute’s elevator pitch, to having so much to say that it was difficult to stop them and move them onto the next person.
They all agreed it had been an incredibly motivating session and they felt much more confident in what they have to offer as a result.
We then addressed the concept of ‘Flow’, using guided visualisation to capture all the magic feelings of being in flow and then recording and sharing those feelings to cement the learning.
This led naturally into identifying their blocks to ‘Flow’, posting them on the walls, discussion with colleagues and identification of top blocks.
They loved the use of the 5 questions that relate to the Talent dynamics energies and how we used these question on a pentagram both for planning and for unblocking blocks to flow and they have gone away with some clear actions and new insights to apply to their business and life right away.
