We all love to learn so make sure you are educating your audience.
It has never been easier to access information about anything we want to know, so take a little time to Google your industry sector on a regular basis and find the latest studies, surveys, white papers and current thoughts of industry experts.
You then have your own ‘NEWS’ to share in your interactions with others and we all love learning something new which we in turn, can share with others. This will really enrich the whole experience of meeting you and make sure you are remembered long after the initial contact.
Share your new knowledge across social media, Tweet your latest findings with a link to your Blog. Introduce your news when you meet others at networking events and include in your ‘Elevator Pitch’ at Networking events.
You can now add your articles to your Linkedin profile and these are widely read by people who are interested in your specialist area.
Think about writing a series of articles combining your own knowledge with your new learnings -this is often how a book is born and they say everyone of us has a book inside us. A book will give you much greater authority and credibility and have people seeking you out.
All of this will position you as an ‘Expert’ in your field and make you stand out from the crowd, bringing people to you who want to listen to your thoughts, discuss your ideas and ultimately work with and refer you.
Finally -make sure you practice what you preach and take action on the learnings you have accumulated, be authentic and ‘walk your talk’.
