So how do you describe yourself?
Do you dread answering the question – ‘so what do you do?’
When you are asked for a Bio of yourself – do you really struggle with what to say?
Do you feel embarrassed about ‘Bigging’ yourself up?
Well, the good new is – you are not alone, most of us do not see ourselves as others see us and if we were to ask the key people of influence in our lives to describe what they love and admire about us we would be astounded!
We are brought up not to ‘brag’ – not to talk about what we are great at or what we have achieved. We are taught to be modest and to ‘blend in’ rather than ‘stand out’.
This has a major impact on us for our whole lives and often keeps us playing small, rather than stepping up into our true power.
However, if we don’t know our value, how can we expect others to see it? How can they engage us if we struggle to define what makes us different and what impact we can have?
So how can you know your true value and start appreciating all you have to offer? How can you send out the right messages to your target audience?
The 1st step is to truly know yourself .
My world has been revolutionised by fully understanding my profile – my natural strengths and how to play to those strengths to be in ‘Flow’.
I now spend most of my time doing the work that I love and that I’m naturally talented in. This means I consistently deliver high quality and get great results, so clients keep coming back and also refer me to their contacts because they trust me to deliver and to exceed on my promises.
When you are in ‘Flow’ you literally ‘Glow’ and you exude a magnetic energy which draws people to you who want to work with you even though they may not know why.
The 2nd step is to look at what your clients are saying about you. What feedback do they give you when you have done a great job for them? Do you have client testimonials? What sort of things are they saying? Do you use their words in your marketing -what other people say about you is infinitely more powerful than anything you will ever say about yourself!
Keep those testimonials visible so you see them every day and can remind yourself of the may benefits you bring to people.
3. Ask the key people in your life to describe your best qualities – (tell them it is for marketing purposes if you find this a difficult ask).
Use those words on your website, social media, email marketing etc.
We all want to know we are engaging someone who can make a real difference and that our investment will bring the right returns.
4. Continually develop ‘YOU” – take time out to go to seminars, workshops, work with a coach/mentor, read business books, take time to think, reflect, plan. – As you learn and grow, you will have so much more to offer your clients and prospects and will be seen as an ‘Expert ‘in your field.
So – Value yourself and the world will start to value you too –
‘You were born to shine and as you let your light shine, you unconsciously give others permission to do the same’ Marianne Williamson
We all only scratch the surface of our true potential – beyond where you are now lies an infinite potential that would astound you!
